Concealed Weapon Training

Concealed Weapon Permit Training

Our training for the concealed weapon permit is based on a person having exposure and experience with firearms. If a person wants to get a concealed weapons permit, and has no experience, then we highly recommend taking the NRA First Steps for pistol. A certification from the NRA First Steps class will still allow an individual to obtain a concealed weapons permit, and it will cover all the basics of firearm safety: how to safely load, unload and handle a firearm. In addition to a safe range experience firing the gun.

Our concealed weapon class is for those who have fired a gun. We focus on the following points:

  1. Safe Gun Handling. The Five major rules of firearms.
  2. Concealed weapons and Florida Law.
  3. Castle doctrine.
  4. Places you can carry a gun concealed, and places you can’t.
  5. Carry techniques.
  6. Proper mindset.
  7. Methods of practice.
  8. Types of ammunition.
  9. When NOT to shoot.
  10. Reciprocity with other states.
  11. Traveling with a firearm.
And more.
The range portion of the class is short, and allows for enough time for the instructor to watch the student load, unload, make the gun safe and hit the target.
This class is mostly about the class and less about the use of the gun. To gain more practice on technique, we suggest attending our Practical Exercises.
