T r a i n i n g: Practical Exercises
For qualified individuals, the opportunity for practical exercises is available. Participation in these exercises is dependent on a qualification exercise held by a Florida Firearms Academy Instructor. Attendance of a mandatory Exercise Orientation allows an individual to qualify for participation in the Practical Exercise.
Practical Exercises are a bimonthly event held at the Academy. These Practicals are based on real life scenarios, un-timed and are similar to staged events found in International Defensive Pistol Association events. These Practicals are not meant to be competitive, rather they are meant to give our qualified members of the public a range opportunity beyond the “square range and paper targets.” Moving and shooting from cover are the cornerstones to the Practicals.
